The NASCAR Hollywood Casino 400 results are in and it was yet another exciting race.

During qualifying on Saturday, it was Christopher Bell who claimed the pole for Sunday afternoon’s race in Dorothy’s backyard. With his second straight pole and the fourth of the season, Bell led the pack of 36 cars at the green flag but quickly lost the lead to Kyle Larson, who started second.

It didn’t take long for the first yellow flag of the day to wave when Martin Truex Jr., the regular season champion, cut a tire and was into the Turn 3 wall. The driver that entered the playoffs as the number one seed was unfortunately the first driver to head to the garage.

Larson was the early favorite as the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet led nearly every lap in the opening stage on his way to collecting the Stage 1 win pretty much uncontested.

It looked as if another Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet would win another stage with Chase Elliott out front this time. However, Brad Keselowski caught the No. 9 with a handful of circuits remaining. In a fierce three lap battle, Keselowski surged ahead of Elliott and was able to conquer Stage 2 ahead of Denny Hamlin, who was also able to clear Elliott for the second position.

With today’s NASCAR Cup Series Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway, coming to a close, it was the No. 11 of Hamlin out front and looking to sweep Kansas in 2023. Unfortunately, Hamlin wouldn’t be so fortunate.

Chris Buescher had his tire pop with six laps to go, causing debris to litter the race track. That forced NASCAR officials to hit that big yellow button, setting up another overtime conclusion.

During the final pit stops, there were a number of different strategies with zero tires, two tires, and four tire calls. Due to the mixed bag of strategies, the restart was quite chaotic with the drivers on fresh rubber swerving around slower traffic.

In a three wide move almost clipping the grass, Tyler Reddick sailed on by Joey Logano and Erik Jones on the final lap to secure the victory and punch his automatic ticket to the round of 12 in the playoffs.

For the No. 45 Toyota, this was the third win at Kansas Speedway in the last four races with three different drivers (Kurt Busch, Bubba Wallace, and Tyler Reddick).

NASCAR Xfinity Series Update

For the sixth time in 2023, John Hunter Nemechek visited victory lane in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and solidified himself as the championship favorite.

JHN might’ve been the race winner, but Austin Hill will take the regular season championship trophy home.

Brandon Jones, who needed the win in order to transfer, came up just one spot short of the victory finishing second.

Sheldon Creed, Parker Kligerman, Austin Hill, Josh Berry, Brett Moffitt, Derek Kraus Joe Graf Jr., and Kaz Grala completed the top ten finishing order in Saturday’s race.

With his fourth place finish, Parker Kligerman will take the final position in the playoff standings.

Craftsman Truck Series Update

In Friday nights Craftsman Truck Series race under the night sky at Kansas, Christian Eckes took his No. 19 Napa Chevrolet from fourth to first in a thrilling three wide fight to the finish with Corey Heim and Zane Smith to capture the win, his third victory of 2023, and the fourth of his career.

Taylor Gray crossed the line in second place, followed by Matt Dibenedetto, Corey Heim, Zane Smith, Carson Hocevar, Stewart Friesen, Nick Sanchez, Jesse Love and Tyler Ankrum completing the top ten.

Although Dibenedetto placed third, it just wasn’t enough as he was still eliminated from the playoffs.

Matt Crafton was also given the boot from the playoffs after an abysmal night where he found himself up in the wall at one point.
