Another exciting race has finished and we are here with the NASCAR Cup Series Bristol results.
After a little delay due to Mother Nature sprinkling a little rain on the race track, the engines fired, and the green flag waved. Christopher Bell started on the pole for the third straight weekend in a row and led his teammate Denny Hamlin at the start.
After 105 laps were completed, the precipitation started to fall again, bringing out the second yellow flag of the night with Corey Lajoie leading after staying out under the first caution.
With five laps to go in the first stage, Bell would take the lead away from Lajoie and go on to win Stage 1, his third stage win of the season.
After a short red flag for more wet weather, the race was back on with Bell and Kyle Larson trading the lead back and forth in Stage 2. Just like the first stage, the No. 20 would take the green and white checkered flag with Ty Gibbs finishing second and Larson crossing the line third.
With more rain on the way, Stage 3 started with everyone pushing for every spot as the race would become official if the water started falling hard from the sky.
A big accident occurred at the beginning of the final stage as Lajoie got loose exiting the corner and slid into the inside wall. The No. 7 ricocheted off the inside wall and shot back up the banking into oncoming traffic collecting the defending NASCAR Cup Series champion Joey Logano.
The No. 22 was out of the race prematurely and in danger of being eliminated from the playoffs.
As Hamlin was trying to put Martin Truex Jr. a lap down with just under 150 laps to go, the No. 19 almost spun out and slightly hit the wall. Truex, who is the regular season champion, struggled all night. He was just in survival mode for the remainder of the race.
Bell had a good night absolutely dominating the first half and winning the first two stages. However, in the last half of the race, Bell restarted in third behind Hamlin and Larson and just wasn’t fast enough in the final 100 laps.
Bell’s teammate, on the other hand, made the correct changes to the No. 11 FedEx Toyota and spanked the field in the final stage.
As the fans rained down boos, Hamlin would win pretty much uncontested for his third victory at “The World’s Fastest Half Mile” and the 51st win of his career, the most of anyone without a championship.
For Joey Logano, Kevin Harvick, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., and Michael Mcdowell, they will leave Bristol with their heads held low as they are eliminated from the playoffs.

NASCAR Xfinity Series Update
Justin Allgaier, the final Jr Motorsports car left standing after all other JRM Chevrolets were involved in accidents, opened the NASCAR Xfinity Series playoffs Friday night with a big win at Bristol Motor Speedway after his crew chief called him in for fresh tires late in the race.
For Allgaier, this was his third victory of 2023 and the 22nd of his career. Allgaier is also now locked into the round of 8 of the playoffs.
Daniel Hemric took second place for one of his best races of the year.
John Hunter Nemechek, Cole Custer, Chandler Smith, Ryan Sieg, Trevor Bayne, Riley Herbst, Sammy Smith, and Kaz Grala rounded out the top ten.
After leading 47 laps in his first of two races this season, Dale Earnhardt Jr. was running an impressive fourth with 30 laps remaining when his car caught fire and he had to pit. With some assistance from the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing crew, Earnhardt hopped out of his car and took a seat on the pit wall.
Earnhardt finished 30th with fire burns on the legs of his fire suit.
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Update
Christian Eckes dominated Thursday night at Bristol, but in the final laps, lapped traffic allowed Corey Heim to slip on by Eckes to win under the lights for his third victory of the year.
With the win, Heim is the first Truck Series driver to qualify himself for the championship race in Phoenix.
Christian Eckes, who won the pole, won both stages, and led 150 laps, crossed the line a very disappointing second.
Grant Enfinger, Carson Hocevar, Taylor Gray, Rajah Caruth, Ben Rhodes, Chase Purdy, Nick Sanchez, and Matt Dibenedetto completed the top ten.
Ty Majeski placed 19th after suffering from a flat tire, and Zane Smith finished 24th after having to serve a pit road penalty for pitting outside his pit box.
