Get the best MLB bets for September 20th

2-for-3 on Tuesday isn’t good enough! We need our best bets to be perfect and that’s our goal with our best MLB bets for September 20th.

So, we went into the research for Wednesday to come up with not one, not two, but three winners that you can bet individually or put together in a parlay.

Let’s turn “hump day” into “cashing ticket Wednesday”!

Cleveland Guardians (-145) at Kansas City Royals (+125) – 2:10 PM EST

The end of the road is near for Zack Greinke. The Royals righty hasn’t thrown 4 innings in a start this month and he hasn’t had a quality start since June. In what could be his last home start, will we see the best from Greinke?

Guardians hitters this season have a .341 batting average against Greinke with six runs scored in 11 innings. Cleveland’s roster, lifetime, has a .351 average, 7 home runs, and 18 RBIs against Zack Greinke. Ramon Laureano alone has a .421 average and 3 homers in his career against Greinke – should make for a good player prop bet today.

As for Cleveland’s starting pitcher, Lucas Giolito, he’s coming off his best start as a member of the Guardians and this season Giolito is 2-0 in two starts against the Royals with a 2.25 ERA and .244 OBA.

One last note – the Royals won last night…they are 17-32 in games following a win, 2nd worst in MLB. We like the Guardians to win today.

Best MLB Bets for September 20th: Guardians ML (-145)

San Francisco Giants (-115) at Arizona Diamondbacks (-105) – 3:40 PM EST

The Diamondbacks are ahead of the Giants in the NL West standings and while it looks like the season will end that way, the Giants are fighting for every win.

Fortunately for San Francisco, Logan Webb is on the mound today. In three starts and 21 innings pitched against the Diamondbacks this season, Webb is 2-0, has a 2.57 ERA, a .167 OBA, and has allowed only 1 home run.

D’backs starter Merill Kelly has not had similar success. In his lone start against the Giants in 2023, he suffered a loss after allowing 3 runs on 7 hits over 5 innings. Plus, Kelly is coming off one of his worst starts of the season – allowing 6 runs in 5 innings.

So, the Giants deserve to be favored even while on the road. Are we taking them to win today? No, we aren’t going to be so bold, especially since they are an underdog. Since we are getting a favorable run line opportunity, we are going to take it.

Our best bet for this one is the Giants covering on the run line.

Best MLB Bets for September 20th: Giants +1.5 (-200)

New York Mets (+100) at Miami Marlins (-120) – 6:40 PM EST

How about a bet on a run total as one of the best MLB bets for September 20th?

The Mets starting pitcher, Kodai Senga, has been fantastic in September so far. 1-0, 1.42 ERA, .169 OBA through 19 innings this month.

The Marlins starting pitcher, Eury Perez, has been fantastic at home this season. 3-1, 1.69 ERA, .184 OBA over 42.2 innings in Miami.

Those numbers are encouraging for a low-scoring game in Miami today. Plus, the Mets have the 2nd worst OVER record in MLB against division opponents. Think we like the UNDER today?

If you’re getting a total of 7.5, we like it. It’s worth the bet, but if you can get an alternative line of 8.5, jump on it as fast as you possibly can!

Best MLB Bets for September 20th: Mets-Marlins UNDER 7.5 (-115) + Mets-Marlins UNDER 8.5 (-150)

Best MLB Bets for September 20th Listed

  • Cleveland Guardians ML (-145)
  • San Francisco Giants +1.5 (-200)
  • Mets/Marlins U7.5 (-115) or U8.5 (-150)
