We have you covered with five of our favorite Underdog Higher or Lower pick em predictions for the week! This is just one of the many different Underdog Fantasy contests available on the platform.

Zach Wilson 178.5 Passing Yards: Higher or Lower?

The young Jets quarterback could not have picked a tougher opposing defense to face in his first start of 2023.

In Week 1, the Dallas Cowboys went on the road and allowed just 63 passing yards to the New York Giants. The Cowboys’ cornerback duo of Trevon Diggs and Stephon Gilmore lived up to the hype in the Meadowlands and will be looking to feast at home against Zach Wilson.

Expect Jets’ star sophomore receiver Garrett Wilson to receive blanket coverage throughout the game, forcing Zach Wilson to go to another receiver…and which one of those other options do we have faith in to put up a big performance?

The Jets will rely on a heavy dose of Breece Hall and Dalvin Cook (maybe even Michael Carter as well) to protect the quarterback from being overrun in passing situations – because Micah Parsons is hunting Wilson on Sunday and he’s not alone.

Wilson could throw up a few prayers and land a deep pass or two, plus the screen game will have its moment if executed properly…but even with a few big plays mixed in, there is no way we are believing Zach Wilson will go higher than 150 passing yards, let alone 178.5!

NFL Week 2 Player Predictions: Zach Wilson Lower Than 178.5 Passing Yards

Russell Wilson 224.5 Passing Yards: Higher or Lower?

Maybe we are biased against quarterbacks with the last name “Wilson” – or maybe we look at the stats and the matchups – but either way, we don’t believe in Russell Wilson throwing for big yardage on Sunday.

In Week 1, the Denver QB had 177 passing yards against the Las Vegas Raiders defense. Granted, Maxx Crosby is a beast upfront – but Vegas doesn’t exactly have a lockdown secondary. And Russell Wilson only threw for 177 yards against that defense!

According to the Washington Commanders injury report, Chase Young is healthy (because he is no longer on the injury report). So, swap out Maxx Crosby for Chase Young and Russell Wilson will have another highly talented DE rushing him on every passing play, except this Sunday will be against a better defense.

The Commanders allowed just 114 passing yards last week – yes it was against the Arizona Cardinals – but the pieces added through the draft in the secondary played well.

Even if receiver Jerry Jeudy plays, we don’t expect Wilson to break-through with a big passing performance. He has played better, from a passing perspective, on the road than in Denver.

Will he drop a few deep balls to Juedy and Cortland Sutton? Yes – but that still won’t help him clear the 220 passing yard threshold for us to consider this higher or lower call.

The Commanders were a top-4 defense against the pass in 2022. They added pieces in the offseason and are currently 5th in passing yards allowed after week 1. Why doubt the trends?

NFL Week 2 Player Predictions: Russell Wilson Lower Than 224.5 Passing Yards

Rhamondre Stevenson 50.5 Rushing Yards: Higher or Lower?

What might have been lost in all the numbers from Tua and Tyreek Hill’s amazing performance in LA against the Chargers in Week 1 was the fact that the Dolphins run defense was BAD!

Miami allowed 233 rushing yards – worst of any team in Week 1!

The Patriots didn’t have a strong performance on the ground last week, but that can be explained by the injuries to the offensive line and (maybe more importantly) having to face the Eagles defense, which has proven itself formidable through two weeks.

Will Miami’s run defense be better against the Patriots than against the Chargers? Of course – I’m sure it’s a point of emphasis for the Dolphins defense this week. However, the Patriots will be committed to running the ball more in this game than in Week 1.

Bill O’Brien will use plenty of two tight end formations to help the injured o-line, and force the Dolphins defense to respect the play-action passing to Hunter Henry and Mike Gesicki.

Rhamondre Stevenson will have plenty of opportunities in this game, from a rushing and receiving standpoint. Some might want to consider his HIGHER on rushing + receiving yards, which is 79.5. While that is attractive, we are going to stick with the ground game and expect Stevenson to get closer to 60-65 rushing yards, even with a questionable offensive line.

NFL Week 2 Player Predictions: Rhamondre Stevenson Higher Than 50.5 Rushing Yards

Brock Purdy 1.5 Passing Touchdowns: Higher or Lower?

Want one of the best stat trends over the past 10 games? Brock Purdy throwing two or more touchdowns – he’s done it in 8 of those 10 games!

The only games he failed to throw two touchdown passes were against the Cowboys defense and Eagles defense (and we all remember why in that game). Purdy continues to be overlooked by many critics, but his consistency has been the leading reason behind his earning the starting job in San Francisco.

The Rams did have a strong performance in week 1, limiting the Seahawks to just 95 passing yards. And that’s exactly why we aren’t touching total passing yards for Brock Purdy. No, we are firmly focused on touchdown passes.

No, the real risk is the running game getting red zone opportunities and taking away the touchdowns from Purdy. But once again, we look to the trends and follow what we’ve seen. Whether it’s to Brandon Aiyuk, Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, or even Christian McCaffrey in the passing game – Brock Purdy will get his two passing touchdowns.

NFL Week 2 Player Predictions: Brock Purdy Higher Than 1.5 Passing Touchdowns

Christian Kirk 39.5 Receiving Yards: Higher or Lower?

Christian Kirk was among the most disappointing players in week 1. He had just nine receiving yards on one catch. Pathetic for a player some thought we have a big week (yes, I’m referring to myself). But, the Colts defense prevented him from doing anything – the Chiefs will not be the same story.

Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson referenced how Kirk would bounce back, especially since he is well-suited to attack the man defense of the Chiefs. Pederson insists the Colts zone defensive approach was what kept Kirk from thriving. Listen to the man…Pederson knows what he’s talking about.

Plus, the Chiefs secondary will be primarily focused on Calvin Ridley at WR1 and Travis Etienne in the backfield. Kirk will benefit from plenty of targets against single man coverage. So, with all that said, 39.5 yards feels light.

If Kirk has the kind of bounce-back performance we expect, reaching over 50 yards should be the floor on this prediction. We’re believing in Kirk and feeling good about it against the KC defense.
