If you’re looking for NASCAR “Go Bowling At The Glen” results, you’re in the right place. After last weekend’s underdog victory at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course, Michael Mcdowell started today’s race in third behind pole-sitter Denny Hamlin and second place qualifier William Byron.

Mcdowell would pick up where he left off as the No. 34 Ford quickly found himself in the battle for the lead. At the conclusion of the first stage, Mcdowell was P1 at the green and white checkered flag.

Unfortunately, the Indy winner ran through too many pit boxes during his pitstop, forcing NASCAR to penalize Mcdowell. After serving his pass through penalty, Mcdowell was in recovery mode for the remainder of the race until he suffered an engine issue with 15 laps remaining, thus ending his day.

William Byron was the dominant driver in the second stage, going uncontested for the Stage 2 victory and setting up a little foreshadowing for the finish.

With 32 laps to go, Chase Elliott, who is in desperate need of a win in order to make the playoffs, somehow ran out of fuel running through the bus stop. A miscalculation by the No. 9 team will result in a 32nd place finish.

Now, the only way Elliott can qualify for the chase for the championship is by winning at Daytona International Speedway next weekend.

The third and final stage of today’s NASCAR Cup Series “Go Bowling at the Glen” looked extremely similar to Stage 2.

Byron continued to run away with the lead on his way to capturing the Watkins Glen victory, his first ever triumph on a road course.

For “Willy B,” this is his fifth win of the year and the ninth of his still quite young career.

With the conclusion of today’s race and only one race left before the playoffs begin, that locks Brad Keselowski and Kevin Harvick into the championship hunt. Bubba Wallace currently sits on the bubble in 16th, 32 points ahead of Ty Gibbs.

NASCAR Xfinity Series Update

On Saturday, Ty Gibbs, Joe Gibbs’ grandson, and last year’s NASCAR Xfinity Series champion truly dominated the event and was well on his way to victory when a late race yellow flag waved setting up an overtime restart!

On a two lap shootout to the checkered flag, Sam Mayer bumped the No. 19 Toyota of Gibbs, sending Gibbs spinning around in a cloud of smoke. Sheldon Creed would blast through the smoke with the lead, followed by the No. 1 of Mayer.

With Creed slipping in some oil scattered across the track, Mayer would take the lead and go on to capture his second career victory in NASCAR’s second series.

Sheldon Creed was close to his first win but had to settle for a second place finish with Parker Kligerman taking third.

Ross Chastain, Conner Mosack, John Hunter Nemechek, Cole Custer, Chandler Smith, Alex Bowman, and Jeb Burton completed the top ten.

Ty Gibbs ended up 17th after all the drama on the last restart.
