Best MLB prop bets today: Aaron Civale over 15.5 Outs (-120)

Civale has been fairly consistent for the Guardians this season.  Over his last 10 starts, he has given up 4-6 hits six times and only more than that once (nine hits against Seattle on April 7). He has also gotten more than 15 outs in seven of his last 10 starts.

Civale is a solid pitcher for a Guardians team that needs to combat a middling offense this season. Pittsburgh has been in a tailspin lately, losing eight of their last 10 games, so look for another strong outing from Civale in his start as one of the best MLB prop bets today.

Best MLB prop bets today: Justin Verlander under 5.5 strikeouts (-110)

The Mets, as a whole, have been a major source of frustration. A lineup with that kind of talent should not be below-.500 and fourth in the NL East standings. Yet here we sit as Verlander heads to the mound against the Chicago White Sox.

While he’s one of the legends of the game, Verlander has been up and down over his last 10 starts. He is just 4-6 in that time, putting in eight innings of work in one start and three in another. His strikeout total is interesting because he’s been right there in each of his last 10 starts, with five or more in seven of 10. That said, he has only gone over five strikeouts in four of those starts, so be wary of taking his over here.

Best MLB prop bets today: Ronald Acuna Jr. over 1.5 total bases (-140)

There are few players in the Major Leagues better than Acuna Jr. He is second in the majors in OPS (1.007), second in batting average (.333), third in hits (123), and is a threat to get on base nearly every time he is up at the plate. For that reason, keep an eye on his total bases against the Diamondbacks.

Even against the very best teams, Acuna Jr. would be one to watch on his over for total bases (1.5). Against a Diamondbacks team that has begun to freefall (2-8 over their last 10 games), ride one of the best hitters in baseball until he fails you. Acuna Jr. should continue to make a strong case for MVP as he leads the first-place Braves to another likely victory.

Best MLB prop bets today: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. under 1.5 hits (-260)

Guerrero Jr. began the season slow but has really found his stroke of late. He has hits in six of his last 10 games, including four multi-hit games in that time. He goes a game or two with modest production before having himself a big game. He has also been a little cold in terms of his over/under, coming in with the under in four of five.

That said, the Padres are treading water but are one of the best teams in the bigs when it comes to holding hitters at bay. The two teams are in the top five for opponent runs per game, which means hits will be tougher to come by for Guerrero Jr. That’s not to say that he will be kept off the box score entirely, but a multi-hit game isn’t looking good against a strong pitching/defense team like the Padres, so take his under as one of the best MLB prop bets today.
