If you love baseball, you are running out of days to enjoy every pitch, hit, and run. That’s why you should make sure to follow our best MLB bets for September 27th before the season is over.
The days are getting shorter, the weather is getting colder and we are inching closer to the postseason. But, we still have a few more days of great MLB betting opportunities.
Our best MLB bets for September 27th are here to help you maximize this window of opportunity before it closes…
Tampa Bay Rays (-125) at Boston Red Sox (+105) – 6:10 PM EST
In 11.1 innings pitched against the Red Sox this season, Rays starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow is 1-0 with a 1.59 ERA and zero home runs allowed. In fact, Red Sox hitters have combined for 88 at-bats against Glasnow resulting in just 17 hits (.193 batting average) and zero home runs.
That’s right – no one on Boston’s roster has a home run against Glasnow. But, they do have 35 strikeouts to just 5 extra base hits. Clearly Glasnow has dominated the Red Sox current roster.
Boston’s starting pitcher Brayan Bello has been a rising star for the Red Sox this season, but he’s 1-1 against the Rays with a 4.50 ERA. He’s also struggled in September with a 6.93 ERA and a .304 OBA.
Bellow has a lower ERA, OBA, and fewer home runs allowed at home, but he has a losing record at home (5-6).
Given Tampa Bay’s record against division opponents (4th best record in MLB), we believe the Rays will continue their march to the postseason by handing Boston another AL East loss.
Best MLB Bets for September 27th: Rays ML (-125)
Washington Nationals (+210) at Baltimore Orioles (-250) – 6:35 PM EST
Yesterday, we liked the Orioles on the moneyline. It wasn’t a sexy pick, given the odds, but with their 1-0 win we cashed the ticket. Wednesday, we are feeling the same way.
Baltimore is 24-20 in interleague games this year, while Washington 23-21. That close game Tuesday also reminds us that the Nats are a more talented team than their record might suggest. However, their starting pitcher today is a weakness.
Patrick Corbin is 1-2 this month with a 6.86 ERA and .280 OBA which also include 5 home runs allowed. Overall, Corbin is 10-14 with a 5.13 ERA and right-handed hitters are hitting .299 against him (remember that for some player prop bets, like Austin Hays).
23-year-old righty starter for the O’s, Grayson Rodriguez, is 2-1 in September with a 2.31 ERA, and just one homer allowed. He’s gotten better with each passing month, both in record and in ERA. He has been better at night, with a 6-3 record – a nice extra note on top of all the Baltimore-leaning trends we found.
We believe in Baltimore for a second day in a row.
Best MLB Bets for September 27th: Orioles ML (-250)
New York Yankees (-105) at Toronto Blue Jays (-115) – 7:07 PM EST
The Yankees have been a major disappointment, for fans and MLB bettors (unless you faded them in the second half of the second). However, there has been one bright spot: Gerrit Cole.
Gerrit Cole is the favorite for AL Cy Young and deserves that status. This season, he’s 14-4, 2.75 ERA, .212 OBA, and he once again reached both 200 innings pitched and more than 200 strikeouts collected. This season has been special for Cole, even if his team has failed to back him up.
And that’s what has us hesitant about going all out on the Yankees on Wednesday. We want to go with the Bronx Bombers on the moneyline, but of late, the “bombers” are lacking offensively.
Fortunately, the Yankees have solid stats against the Blue Jays starting pitcher, Jose Berrios. This season, the Toronto pitcher is 0-2 with a 5.11 ERA and .265 OBA against the Yanks. Plus, Aaron Judge has owned Berrios.
The Yankees captain has a .407 batting average and 3 home runs against Berrios. Expect him to once again go yard – but will it be enough?
We want to bet New York on the moneyline – it would be a nice payday – and we certainly won’t talk you out of it. But best bets need to cash, and the best bet for this game is Yankees to cover as an underdog on the run line.
Best MLB Bets for September 27th: Yankees +1.5 (-210)
